Unique unusual hand carved vintage talking or speaking staff/stick has a lot of patina/wear from use, notably on the top.
It measures just under 38” long and approximately 1 3/4” at its widest.

Signed on the back DAN COOTES
Dan Cootes is an artist from the Nuu-chah-nulth First Nation located on the west coast of Vancouver Island in BC.
The four carved animal figures are possibly: thunderbird or eagle, raven, orca, and bear

There are some imperfections and dings, and the orca is missing some wood on one side and a fin tip on the other.
It can be smoothed out and stained, but will leave up to new owner to decide on this.

The photos have been brightened to show the detail in the carvings. The staff is a little darker than shown, similar to last photo.
