As a homeowner who has worked hard to make our property look half decent, I have a question for the dog owners in Campbell River. First, know I am not looking to paint everyone with the same brush, just looking for honest feedback from dog owners;
When you are walking your dog within a neighbourhood, do you allow your dog to use your neighbours plants / shrubs / gardens as their personal bathroom? And if so, why?
I am curious as to the thinking with people who I see walk their pet by our property and our neighbours properties and either have their pet off leash - or the have them on leash yet still allow them on to others property to relieve themselves?
I have seen many people's new gardens or shrubs dying because local dog walkers seem to feel there is no harm in this happening.
So, from the other perspective, how would you approach someone doing this on your property? Or would you even care?
Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
Thanks to all for taking the time to respond to the above post. 95% of what came through was genuinely good feedback, whether it was agreed with or not.
Although there wasn't much response from actual owners who take part in allowing their pets to use other folks property as their washroom (not much surprise there), the honesty from others was appreciated and certainly shed some light on other perspectives which is always a great learning experience.
It seems that dealing with this issue is quite common, but also dealt with best on an individual basis dependent on the owner of the dog.
So thank you to everyone for taking time to write in, your feedback opened the eyes a bit more :)
