A moka pot is a classic Italian stovetop coffee maker that brews strong, espresso-style coffee by using steam pressure to force hot water through ground coffee, resulting in a rich, full-bodied brew, not quite espresso but stronger than drip, using its distinctive hourglass shape with three chambers. To use, fill the base with water, add medium-fine grounds to the filter basket (don't tamp!), screw tight, and heat gently; remove from heat when it starts gurgling.
