Couple looking for smaller home for long term rental (Campbell river)

We are looking for a cabin/house/studio or basement to rent long term preferably but are open to short as well depending on how short. The size of the home can be quite small as we have learned in life we do not need or want a large place to be happy and actually prefer a smaller cozy home, as long as there is a little yard to use we are happy as we spend a lot of time outside.
A little about us, we are a loving couple with a happy lil boy, he’s almost 2 years old and quite the lil character, always on the go 😁 We have lived in Campbell river most if not all of our life’s, we have recently moved back from Nova Scotia where we spent 2.5 years. We had our own farm in a beautiful location just outside of Oxford. We decided to give up that dream and come home as we missed the Beauty of Vancouver island and the family we have here. I was a tractor operator harvesting blueberrys and my partner was an online tutor, teaching children in remote locations of Canada to read. I finished my season before coming home so I am currently on EI while looking into getting on as a campground host for this upcoming camping season. I am also trying to start up my own pressure washing/landscaping company. I also buy n sell storage lockers when something good pops up. As you can tell I am very much a go getter to say the least and am always doing something. 😁 Neither of us drink, party, or do drugs. I smoke cigarettes but always outside and never leave a mess.
We have owned our own homes in both Campbell river and Nova Scotia and take great pride in where we live, maintaining and beautifying the yard and home where we can.
When we moved back we enjoyed staying in our 23’ travel trailer until the weather got poor. We are currently renting a room from family but we would like to find a place of our own to call home long term. Also please know that we are very open to doing jobs for you or helping with any improvements you might want to do with your property/s including painting or landscaping and small builds to in exchange for money off rent or a lower rent overall, with our budget we would ideally like to find something around 11-1200 with utilitys included but can come up some for the right place in the Campbell river, black creek or Quadra area is preferred, Comox or Courtenay could work aswell if the right situation popped up. We are also very open to a live in resort type home where I could be a care taker or help with maintenance on multiple things.
