According to the website Sydnas Sloot, one of our favourite companies stamped its tools with “MILLERS FALLS MFG CO” for just a short period in its early history. This carpenter’s brace has a non-ratcheting chuck, typical for the period. A 12” sweep isn’t very common. And I’ve never found one this old with everything maintained so well. Stamped “no.11” and all features collaborate with the original description/images from Millers Falls catalogue in this period.
It’s in restorable condition, overall. I’ve included another brace with a Barber-pattern chuck, because the jaws are compatible. You’ll want to find a spring, as the original one has almost been obliterated. I doubt any of us will see another working specimen of this calibre and age.

Keywords - Brazilian rosewood, antique quality, not vintage.
