14 x 6.5 foot Welded Aluminum Enclosed Cargo and Adventure Trailer
At 900 lbs this single-axle trailer is lightweight, aerodynamic, and strong. Express Custom Manufacturing. Built in Coombs, BC. It is NOT sheet-and-post construction, unlike almost all other cargo trailers.
Plain white exterior paint. Plenty of overhead room inside. It has a rounded front section which you don't find in other cargo trailers. This provides superior aerodynamics while maximizing interior volume.
I have been building this into a camper. Lowering VOC's was super important to this build as well as keeping weight to a minimum. The interior uses GE Silicone 1 for gaps. I used GE Silicone 2 for all exterior caulking. The trailer is insulated with GPS foam board on the interior and waterproof XPS on the undercarriage. True Linoleum floor with cork underlay installed. This is a natural flooring, true linoleum is made of pine rosin, wood dust and flax oil. It is not the same as cheap vinyl flooring sheet.
No furnishings, furniture, fixtures or wallboard inside, only GPS insulation and 1" thick pine boards installed at the roof, and along the sides to make finishing with doorskin or panels easy.
I have some plans for the layout but have since changed gears in life and no longer wish to create this ultimate modular adventure set-up. 6.5' wide, you can put the bed width-wise. I was planning to keep the interior somewhat open and unfurnished to use it as a toy/pallet hauler. Enough overhead room to store surfboards/skis/etc inside above your head.
- Axle flip to allow a bit greater clearance for off-roading
- Upgraded springs
- Reinforced the frame at the axle interface with an aluminum slab and isolated the frame from the axle with large stainless bolts and thick rubber bushing material.
- Installed MaxxFan with remote and rain-proof shroud. Their best fan.
- Heater vent piping, just bring your propane, diesel, wood, pellet, veg-oil heater.
- Insulation inside and underneath.
- Pine boards to afix furnishing, finishings, struts, wallboard, etc..
Setting up camp is as easy as dropping the trailer. Run into town for supplies without bringing your entire set-up with you (I'm looking at you, vanlife). This is light enough to tow with your SUV, or it's great to have the back of a truck available for stinky motors, gasoline, wet and dirty gear, a quad..
Also available is a 110ah lithium battery, 600w Samlex pure sine inverter, cables, fuse box, etc.
There is an older truck also on offer. White Ford F150 xlt 4x4 with tow pkg. Package deal possible.
